Color Palette Challenge - March

Well, Color Palette Challenge of March is a secret project, so I can just show you fabric choices... the reveal day will be somewhere in Summer ;-)

Not very useful, I know... All in all it has been not so difficult as I feared...

Bene, il Color Palette Challenge di Marzo è un progetto secreto, così posso solo mostrarvi un mucchio di stoffe... il quilt intero lo vedrete più o meno in Estate ;-)
Lo so, non è una foto molto rivelatrice... alla fine non è stato difficile come pensavo, trovare i colori.

Color Palette Challenge

Here we are, a little bit late, but at last I managed to finish the binding (thank you Leyla and Annie for the course!), right now "Country Lane Tablerunner" is in the washing machine (to get rid of the washable markers, hopefully) and then it will take residence on my kitchen table!
With this project I killed two birds with a stone: the Color Palette Challenge of February (here the beautiful works of talented quilters all around the world AND the color choices for March) and a project from volume one of Quilter's Academy... I love the books of Harriet Hargrave, have I already said she's my "Quilter's of the Year 2012"? She's a very talented writer, her words are very inspiring!
So here there's my work for the Color Palette Challenge of February:

Eccoci, un po' in ritardo, ma alla fine sono riuscita a finire il bordino (grazie Leyla e Annie per il corso a Cervia!), proprio adesso "Country Lane" è in lavatrice (auspicabilmente per togliere i segni dei pennarelli lavabili usati per la quiltatura) e poi finirà sopra il mio tavolo in cucina!
Con questo progetto ho preso 2 piccioni con una fava: il Color Palette Challenge di Febbraio (qui potete vedere i lavori di bravissime quilters intorno al mondo E i colori per la sfida di marzo) e un progetto dal primo volume di "Quilter's Academy"... Adoro i libri di Harriet Hargrave, ho già detto che è la mia "Quilter dell'anno 2012"? È davvero piena di talento e le sue parole ispirano a lavorare di più e meglio!

Grazie Judy per ospitare questa sfida e grazie Vicky per i colori che scegli ogni mese: è così interessante provare la propria mano con colori con i quali non sono molto "amica" o che non mescolo solitamente!

What do you think? They're very bold for my usual taste, I'm a "forest-girl", if my stash says something about my color preference. Well, I think this month challenge will be interesting!

Cosa ne pensate? Sono molto vivaci per i miei gusti, sono una "ragazza della foresta", almeno a giudicare dalle stoffe che tengo in armadio. Bene, penso che la sfida di questo mese sarà davvero interessante!

(Micaela, spero davvero che tu legga il mio blog... sappi che è una fatica scrivere tutto due volte in due lingue diverse e che lo faccio per te :) )

I have already started a project... as usual I try for 2 birds with a stone: a table runner from Quilters Academy n°1 by Carrie and Harriet Hargrave...
I realized last year (well, just a couple of months ago...) that my piecing was sloppy, and so I took matters in hand, bought the Quilters Academy Series and began to work from the beginning. I'm very happy, because it was time for a refresh and the books are beautiful and useful and the projects interesting even for a not-so-absolutely beginner.

Ho già iniziato un progettino, come sempre cerco di prendere due piccioni con una fava ed ho scelto un centrotavola da Quilters Academy n° 1 di Carrie e Harriet Hargrave...
L'anno scorso (più o meno sotto Natale) ho realizzato che le mie cuciture erano diventate trascurate e così ho preso in mano la situazione, comprato la serie di libri delle Hargrave e iniziato a lavorare dal principio e sono davvero contenta della scelta: era arrivato il momento di rinfrescare la mia tecnica e i libri sono belli, utili e con progetti interessanti anche se non si è del tutto principianti. Non fa mai male un ripasso!

Color Palette Challenge - Done!

Here we are, with the Color Palette Challenge of January:

I think I has not been very "daring" with this one, but I was afraid I didn't have enough time this month to do all my duties. I have a retreat, starting tomorrow (I can't wait!!!), and usually I come home with my head full of projects and new techniques I want to try and never-ever enough time to do it!!! So I thought it was better starting with a little project, but actually made it! :)

Color Palette Challenge - January

So it begins!
This is the January palette, choose by the talented Vicky Welsh of Field Trips in Fiber:

We can do whatever pop up in our mind (king size quilts, bags, wall hangings, table runners, pincushions,.. you name it!), and I choose this fabrics from my stash:

I think I will go small, for this first month, just a warm-up... :)
